If you missed last night’s Grammys, I’m sure you got enough highlights from your Twitter and Facebook feeds. It was a memorable night with R&B artist Frank Ocean’s self-destructive performance of “Forrest Gump” — a song he wrote from the perspective of Jenny, Forrest’s love interest in the popular 1994 romantic comedy.
Kelly Rowland also showed how much of a bad ass she is by defying last night’s ‘no-skin’ dress code and rocking a Georges Chakra black, geometric cut-out gown. Fierce.
Beyonce Knowles opted for a surprisingly simple Osman black and white pants suit. I think it’s hard for the pop diva to NOT steal the spotlight and she knows it.
Overall, it was a great night at the Grammys. and one of my fave moments was the spirited tribute to Bob Marley.
Right now, I’m like the kid in that ‘back in the day’ commercial who kept yelling, “are we there yet?” Only, in my case, I’m anxiously waiting for the arrival of spring…c’mon already!
It hasn’t been the coldest winter ever, but it’s definitely that time of year when you’re ready to shed those extra garments. Well, why not get the season started early with hot spring trends that you can easily pair with your boots, jacket or leggings…
THE TREND: Alice + Olivia floral skinny jeans
WEAR IT NOW: keep the look chic yet simple with wedged ankle booties and a solid gray or black silk blouse
It’s not just about making a fashion statement anymore. As a mother of a toddler and a 4 month old, I’m examining comfort and practicality with every outfit. You won’t catch me sporting pajama jeans but with so many mommy-conscious fashion, there’s no need to compromise one’s sense of style.
I just adore the wedged sneaker and so does new mommy Bey and Kourtney Kardashian! Isn’t this the answer to achieving a sexy silhouette and being able to chase the tantrum-throwing tot?
Yep, that’s me in the above photo…mother of two amazing kids!!
It’s been a minute since I last blogged (6 months to be exact) but for two very good reasons — Blake & Jordan! These two know how to get my undivided attention; mostly because 2 year old Blake frequently tries to choke, bite or crush 4 month old Jordan. Ahhhhh…the joys of motherhood!
Well, I’m feeling pretty balanced in my role as Blake and Jordan’s mom, so I’m back from hiatus and in time for fashion week, spring beauty tips and the season’s hottest trends. Stay tuned!
Hooray for those who can blow $1,000 or more per item on a shopping trip. For the rest of us, luxury clothing and accessories are a rare treat or just an addition to our wishlist.
If your pockets are in the mood to splurge this summer, I’ve found some stand-out pieces that you’ll love forever and ever!
Of course you haven’t been working out just to cover it up at the beach or pool, but sometimes the packaging makes what’s underneath even more exciting! Whether it”s a beach date or sexy pool party, I’ve found some flirty swimsuit cover ups for under $50.
LUNCH WITH FELLOW BEAUTY BLOGGERS & MY FAVE SUMMER BEAUTY MUST-HAVES
This Wednesday, I got the opportunity to lunch with fellow bloggers and try out the latest summer skincare/beauty products courtesy of Hawaiian Tropics!
My first event since our hiatus and the perfect way to kick off the summer. We sailed along the Hudson on a fabulous yacht, enjoyed some tasty treats, desserts, cocktails (virgin for me of course) and got introduced to a few summer essentials from Hawaiian Tropics and other beauty makers.
With Memorial Day weekend and the unofficial start of summer already here, I found some cool must-have items in my goodie bag from the event! Whether you’re taking off to the Caribbean or just heading to the beach, check out these great ways to stay cute while basking in the sun:
Protect your skin with the new Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration™ sunscreen lotion — a lightweight, non-greasy lotion and the only sunscreen with extra luxurious hydrating ribbons to pamper your skin with 12 hour moisturization. You can get it in SPF 12, 30 and 50.
Take along a trendy bikini bag like Echo Design Beach bag. It’s completely lined with vinyl so that you can carry or toss your wet swimsuit in your beach bag.
Keep those lips moist and protected with Hawaiian Tropic Aloha Kiss lip gloss with SPF 20. It comes in kissable flavors like Island Berry and contains Vitamins A, C & E.
This month, Helmut Lang launched HELMUT — a moderately priced version of his effortlessly chic pieces. I fell in love with Helmut Lang 14 years ago when I got my hands on a pair of straight leg indigo denim. My next purchase was a pair of black parachute pants followed by a leather barrel-shaped shoulder bag…and so the love affair continues.
HELMUT is now available at Bloomies and Saks. Check out my favorite looks from the line…
If you’re loving this season’s striped fashion but a little fearful about the unflattering look of horizontal vs. vertical, you can always go with a simple accessory piece. Stripes are hot hot hot and can be found on everything from dresses to bracelets.
Here are some of my favorite striped pieces from Lavin, Besty Johnson and more:
