I had to sit back and let this year’s Grammy Awards marinate a bit before giving my two cents. Over the years, I’ve tried not to elaborate on the actual performances because I’m usually all caught up with the red carpet looks. However, how could I ignore the delightfully raunchy PDA (public display of affection) between Mr. and Mrs. Carter.
Now, I never give my opinion as an attempt to change anyone’s mind. We’re all entitled to our beliefs, values and what we consider appropriate or inappropriate. But here’s what I think —
1) I find it very odd that people are in an uproar over the expression of sexuality. That’s not healthy.
2) For those who thought it was too explicit for children — it’s fairly easy to pause the TV, switch channels or put the kids to bed. Furthermore, I had no idea that the Grammys was a kid-friendly program.
3) Some folks should have watched Beyonce’s performance , practiced some of those moves and try to reenact what it’s like to be “Drunk in Love”
Anyway, moving right along to my favorite red carpet moments of the night. Here are my picks for best dressed and best hair:
Ciara and Chrissy Teigen both killed the competition on the Grammy red carpet. Ciara, who’s with child, looked so radiant and glamorous in Emilio Pucci and loosely pulled back hair. Chrissy Teigen, supermodel and John Legend’s wife, wore a gold, front-slit gown from Johanna Johnson. The long trains. sparkling embellishment, and minimal accessories made these two looks flawless.
It’s hard to choose between Beyonce’s ombre, wavy bob and Queen Latifah’s asymmetrical bob. It’s a refreshing look for both women who typically go for long tresses. Pay attention…I think the bob will be one of the hottest styles for spring/summer 2014.
