C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine - $7.50 at Bath and Body Works
I admit that I’m not a fan of Bath and Body works, but I notice that they’ve started to carry some quality brands/products, that do more than make you smell like berries, such as Murad and C.O. Bigelow.
My recent find – Mentha Lip Shine by C.O. Bigelow! It’s a three-in-one moisturizer that gives a glossy finish, intense moisture, and a refreshing minty, cooling sensation.

Lume Luxe candle in blackberry creme
I’m always trying different home fragrances in the hopes that I can create the perfect Feng Shui. While shopping at Target, I came across a new scent from their Lume Luxe candle line and have already declared this my fragrance for the winter. The blackberry crème scent leaves me nostalgic, for some reason, with a whiff of a delightful home-made dessert that lingers in the crisp autumn air! But before I get too poetic, try this scent yourself for only $12.99 at Target and let me know if you love it as much as I do.
A FRESH SHAMPOO WITH NO WATER OR DRYING!
Back in the day when almost everyone was wearing goddess, wet n’ wavy, or micro-braids, the biggest challenge was keeping it fresh yet well groomed and clean. One old school beauty regimen that I heavily relied on was the Sea Breeze and cotton wipe down. This was simply wiping the scalp, between washes, to remove oil and dirt buildup. What’s not so good about this method is that Sea Breeze, an alcohol based product, can severely damage color treated and chemically processed hair.
If you’re sporting braids, a weave or just want a quick fix in between salon visits, you’ll love Oscar Blandi’s Pronto dry shampoo spray

Oscar Blandi's Pronto Dry Shampoo Spray - $11 - $21
Nowadays, you can get a lot of deals, but it’s not often that you come across a sweet deal. My favorite cosmetic store, Sephora, is offering a set of six Smashbox lipglosses for only $29…whooohoooo! Not only is this a sweet deal, but Smashbox has beautiful colors that last for long periods,

MAC Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Engraved - $14.50
My beauty icon (a.k.a. my Mama) introduced me to MAC Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Engraved about a year ago. Before that, I always avoided black eyeliner, especially on long days. Smearing, smudging and runny raccoon eyes are hard to refresh when you’re rushing from work to an event.

LACQUERED LIPS

Shiseido Lip Gloss in Ruby Luster - $21
Your nail polish is not the only thing in lacquer this season. Another tip that I got from celebrity stylist Mariel Haenn (see earlier fashion post) is that shiny, pouty, lacquered lips in nudes to deep reds were all the craze on the runway and should definitely be incorporated into our everyday look.

A few weeks ago, I received a sample of Absolue Premium Bx, a skin replenishing cream by Lancome. Of course, I always look at these products and think that I have a few more years left until I need to slap on the anti-aging stuff. But, this cream actually fights the effects of hormonal changes which can cause dryness and uneven skin-tone.
That sweat you’re breaking at the gym may be good for burning calories but it can create havoc on your hair and scalp. Sweating in your scalp can lead to severe dryness if you’re not moisturizing after your workout. This time of year also calls for extra moisture as the air outside becomes dry.
If you tend to suffer from seasonal dry itchy scalp like me or just need extra scalp protection while wearing your braids or hair extensions, here’s a solution that you’ll love:
