I don’t believe in natural beauty…staying beautiful, inside and out, takes time and effort! Now that I’m a mother, there’s just never enough time for frequent salon visits, manicures and carving out 20 minutes to do makeup. For all you busy moms out there, here are 3 beauty shortcuts to help you save on time. Plus, check out more fab tips from Kimora Lee on Glam TV.
1. Instead of a liquid foundation, use a cream to powder foundation like Urban Decay Surreal Skin, which takes less time to blend
2. Use a multi-purpose skin stick, like Nars The Multiple, for your face, cheeks and lips
3. In between manicures, keep nails looking neat and shiny with a 3 in 1 base, top coat and strengthener like Sephora by OPI

So most of you know that I have no qualms about being thrifty, especially when it comes to certain items. My favorite places to search for beauty deals are Sephora and Ricky’s NYC and this week, I found some awesome online buys all for $10 or less…
#1. Stila Trendsetting Tokyo Travel Palette - Orig $65/Now $10 at Sephora
#2. Sephora by OPI nail color - Orig. $9.50/Now $5 at Sephora
#3. Conair 1″ Ceramic Flat Iron - Orig. $22.99/Now $9.99 at Ricky’s NYC

This morning while I was going through my Facebook news feed, I noticed some photos of a petite girl with a ginormous fake behind. Yes, I’m a hundred percent positive that she didn’t get all of that from her mama, and I began to ponder what would possess anyone to disfigure their body in such a way.

Model Pebbelz after her butt implant surgery
Maybe it was Sir Mix-A-Lot who incited this whole craze with “Baby Got Back”. For some reason, these women have misinterpreted his love for a natural, round, voluptuous buttock and ended up as a living caricature — an exaggeration, a hilarious cartoon! But, I soon discovered that these butt augmentation surgeries are nothing to laugh about.
The smokey eye look is always a sexy option for evening or a night on the town. It can also end up looking like a hot mess, if you don’t know the right way to apply it. So, here are some simple steps to achieve sultry, smokin’ eyes from professional makeup artist and founder of Cheek to Chic in NYC, Raychel Wade…

How many of you can remember those series of commercials where the woman pampers herself after a hetic day in a bath filled with moisturizing Calgon. The senario has been coined a “Calgon Moment” and I still remember each frustrated voice repeating the slogan, “Calgon take me away!”
Now, you’ll only see those commercials on YouTube, and I have no idea if this Calgon bath thingy is still around. That concept basically died with the product because we deserve so much more than a “Calgon Moment”. I’m talking luxurious spa days and with the bi-annual Spa Week Event, you don’t have to spend a lot for the experience.
Spa Week is April 11th through the 17th , so right now you can make an appointment to get select full service treatments at participating spas in North America. Each service is only $50 and bookings started on March 14th. Below are some of the spas taking part in the event, but you can visit the website www.spaweek.com for complete listings…

If the word exfoliator is almost as frightening as appyling some to your sensitive face, you’re not alone. My face tends to breakout from most scrubs or exfoliating washes, but that doesn’t mean I can simply bypass this regimen. The dryness and dullness that occurs during the winter can not be treated by just moisturizing. Exfoliating is a must if you want to achieve a radiant glow.
Here are three simple ways to gently scrub your way to softer, more youthful skin:
1. Limit the number of times you exfoliate to every 6 to 8 weeks or as needed
2. Always moisten your skin before exfoliating and follow with a moisturizer that contains alpha or beta hydroxy acids, which helps to remove additional dead skin cells
3. Only use gentle exfoliators or scrubs that are specifically made for your face like these brands:

Laura Mercier Face Polish - $18.50

Orange lips ruled the runway at 2011 spring/summer fashion shows and now that it’s time to refresh your makeup bag here are 3 quick tips to wearing this season’s hottest beauty trend:
1– stick with deep or burnt orange for darker skintones

3– let your lips pop but keep the eyes and cheeks very soft and subtle
The question everyone’s mulling over today — Is it offensive or artistic for Beyonce to darken her skin (with makeup) for a French magazine photoshoot.
According to Huffington Post, the mag, L’Officiel, released a statement that “it’s a return to her roots” and she “voluntarily darkened her skin.” AllHipHop.com is even speculating that this may be a response to rumors that she bleaches her skin.
Ok sooooo…a Black woman can not put on ”BlackFace” , as it’s being labeled in many of the headlines, because she is already Black! Beyonce, Halle, Mariah, Whoopi, Iman, Tyra are all Black. In regards to the ‘bleaching’ rumors, please stop. When are we going to realize that we’re all in the same boat (no pun intended).
We’re in the midst of another Black History Month and since we’re talking beauty, I thought it would be a nice twist to look at some trendsettng moments in Black History. It’s all about ‘good hair’ baby and when it comes to Black hair, the options are endless. Whether, it’s Pam Grier’s afro, Janet Jackson’s goddess braids, Beyonce’s blonde weaves or Rihanna’s mohawk, best believe each look has made a mark in cultural history.
Here’s a collage of the greatest or my most memorable Black hair-dos (think I’ve had them all except the Jheri).
