Speaking of comeback trends (see Monday’s post), I now have my mind set on getting a cross body bag for next season. I had plenty of these bags in the late 80s and wasn’t that excited about this look when it was reintroduced last spring/summer. But, I decided to give the cross body bag a second chance as more designers begin to include this style in their collections and as I begin to think of practical yet trendy options for my motherhood adventure.
On my wish list, is this Salvatore Ferragamo calfskin cross body in chalk. I love the bold neutral, color and the fun design that is different from the typical rectangular or square cross body bags.

Jennifer Lopez worked the cameras last night at makeup stylist Scott Barnes’ About Face book launch party. She hosted the event and rocked a Louis Vuitton strapless dress with waist embellishment. While Jenny may get her Louis with no price tags attached, a dress like this could run well over a $1000.

I refuse to consider myself a label whore, but the fact that most of my shoes and bags are perforated, pink, beige, green, red, black and gold G detail may be a bit misleading. Oh well! I’m addicted to the style, comfort and timeless charm of all things Gucci and never apologetic for it, especially when I break out my throwback G detail canvas sneakers with the oversized Gucci signature at the heel.

DREAMING OF SPRING
My chocolate brown UGGS take up permanent space by the doorway and the outfits must compliment the shoes these days and not the other way around. This weather and swollen ankles at the end of my pregnancy require comfort and warmth [with moderate style, of course]. So while we’re only in the first 3 weeks of winter, I’m daydreaming of funny diaper changing mishaps, playtime in the park and bold, beautiful sandals.
Right now, Stylebop.com has the best sale on designer shoes and these Guiseppe Zanotti black and ivory patent sandals are a classic look that can play up a shift dress, pair of jeans of or sexy cocktail attire . But, they’re also luxurious and edgy with the ankle strap and decorative heart buckle.

Hot girl Zoe Saldana, who stars in the new movie Avatar, looks like she’s ready to hit the runway in this lace, sequin and silk mini dress from Emilio Pucci. It’s one of those pieces you’ll never want to part with, even when you’re 10 pounds heavier and may feel too old to show off so much leg. But, the lace and silk background topped with the elegant sequined details makes this ready-to-wear number worthy of the $5,895 price tag (even if I can’t afford it).
As much as we would all love to get the real thing, sometimes we have to settle for second best. I found a few options at lower price points at online shops, Asos and Diani Boutique.

Retailers are slashing prices to make room for Spring 2010 pieces and right now is the best time to get your hands on some of those classic designer shoes or bags that you been eyeing all season. I have to say that Saks Fifth Ave has the best designer sale so far with 40% off brands like Christian Louboutin, Valentino and Badgley Mischka and free shipping when ou enter the code HOLIDAY at check out.
My favorite “high fashion on the low” items at Saks are these t-strap pumps by Elizabeth and James and Badgley Mischka’s Platinum Label Carina leather hobo.

You all know from my earlier post that Jimmy Choo launched in selected H&M stores on November 14th! As expected, the store at 640 Fifth Ave was jam packed with fashion connoisseurs, label whores as well as those who saw this as an opportunity to get their first and maybe only piece of Jimmy.
As expected, it was chaotic, nerve racking and a fight to reach the cashier line — or so I hear. I was able to get one of the soon-to-be historic fashion pieces but have to thank my personal stylist a.k.a my mama for making it to the stores. I knew I needed a black day bag and although mommy told me how fabulous it was beforehand, I only imagined it being fabulous for H&M’s standards.

No, you’re not misreading the caption – that’s Fantasia on the red carpet at the Soul Train Awards which was held in ATL last week. I never thought the day would come that I could compliment her on style and fashion, but somewhere out there is a stylist who deserves all the accolades for pulling this off.
