(Left to Right) Venetian Statue ($59.99), Nefertiti ($64.99), Gothic Vampress ($99.99). All available at Party City.r
Hopefully we’re all bored with the “sexy” costume fad. I know I’ve seen enough half-naked witches and super heroines and after all, sexiness is a state of being and not what you wear. This Halloween top costumes are taking us back to ghoulish, gothic and classical characters with a very feminine appeal. Who’s ready for some dress-up fun?

Angelica of Pirates of the Caribbean - $59.99 at BuyCostume.com

1. IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE CLINGY
Leather can be flattering for any body type when it’s loose and draped like the Utzon black leather vest ($1,340).
2. IT’S TOUGH YET GIRLY
You can definitely go edgy with a feminine touch in Gucci’s strapless, pleated cognac leather dress ($2,890)
3. IT’S LONG AND STILL SEXY
Sure a short leather skirt is hot, but a knee length asymmetrical hem skirt from Mandy Coon ($540) says grown and sexy.

For those days when your schedule is packed with meetings, lunch and/or dinner dates, add a touch of flare to that pant suit, pencil skirt, or sheath dress with this season’s hottest pumps.
WILD PRINTS
Animal prints will never go away and can really spruce up you daytime wardrobe. If you want an eye-catching look, Dolce Vita’s leopard heels with a dash of red (scarf, red nail polish or bag) are the perfect accessories for an all black ensemble.
DASHING STRIPES
Stripes have been trendy for the last few seasons and there are no exceptions when it comes to footwear! Bruno Magli’s soft suede striped platforms can add a bit of edge to your grays and blacks or go for a fun and funky look by rocking a bright solid like royal blue or purple with these pumps.
EXOTIC SKINS
Nothing says high-fashion like Chloe’s two-toned snake skin and patent pumps. Whether you’re going completely corporate with a tailored business suit or business casual with a pencil skirt and blouse, it’s a modern classic that will give you a polished look.

Who says only super heroes and british detectives can rock a cape? A great look for day or night, capes are a stylish alternative to a fall sweater, blazer or throw. This season, you’ll find many variations of the cape from some of our favorite designers. Yves Saint Laurent creates a high fashion, dramatic look with their French wool, single-breasted button front cape with notched-lapels (Far Left). Stella McCartney achieves comfort and style with her long knit, sweater cape (Center). Nanette Lepore is all about feminine chic and brings a lot of that to her cape with its point collar and double-breasted button front (Right).
These capes range from $698 to $3,240, but I also found some equally fab options at Asos.com and Yoox.com for under $350…

Now that I’m a full time blogger and SAHM (Stay at Home Mom), jeans have become a major part of my wardrobe. Between Mommy & Me classes and afternoons at the park, I need at least four comfy pairs to get me through the week.
It’s definitely more cost-effective than business suits, but denim shopping has always been a nightmare for me. If it’s a new brand or style, I usually have to try multiple pairs and it’s almost impossible to find a perfect fit. It’s either too snug on the booty, too loose in back or too tight on the thighs.
Well, a couple weeks ago I was introduced to Levi’s ® Curve ID! It’s almost like getting your own custom-fitted jeans that’s all about your shape and NOT your size. It’s such a cool and easy way to shop for jeans – I took the Curve ID quiz at Levi.com to find my “custom fit” and tried it in-store before making a purchase. According to the quiz, I’m a Supreme Curve and it was exactly the right fit when I went to the store.

Sometimes you’re not quite sure what you’re looking for but when you see it, you just “know”. It catches your eye and speaks to you in more ways than one. You can’t sum it up in one or two words and you’re left speechless and giddy with excitement.
Custo Barcelona, a line created by brothers Custo and David, is all of the above. A mix of bold prints, rich fabrics, vibrant color and very sophisticated silhouettes. Love!

Yours Truly on the red carpet at the Qream pre-fashion week Polish & Pamper party
Being a blogger rarely offers enough face to face interaction. It’s like everything happens online…we live for the next post, the next comment, the next status update, the next Tweet.
Then every now and again, spectacular events like Mercedes Benz Fashion Week come around, and we get to rub elbows with fellow bloggers, fashion industry folks, celebrities and readers alike. Not even 2 days into this 8 day event and there has already been 15 shows and countless parties!
My most anticipated shows this year are Tracy Reese and Naeem Khan and my fave party so far was the Qream pre-fashion week Polish + Pamper party! It was the perfect calm before the storm. I got to connect with some fabulous women, sip on delish Qream cocktails and got a relaxing mani/pedi. Plus, the giveaways were equally fab — a fashion week survival kit and jewelry from Stella & Dot!!
Check out the Qream Facebook page and stay tuned for more updates from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week!

I always say it’s not about where you shop but how you shop. My closet has everything from designer to discount department store to vintage. For me, it’s all about finding stylish, quality pieces that fit into my budget. As we approach the unofficial end of summer, here are some smart shopping tips to help you put together a fabulous fall wardrobe…
– Looking fabulous doesn’t have to come with a high price tag. it’s about choosing styles and fabrics that are flattering for your body type. For example, If you want to minimize your chest area, avoid tops with ruffles and layers. If you want a slimmer look, avoid clingy materials like jersey knits and satin.
– It’s not all about the brand. Create your personal style by mixing and matching low-end pieces with your favorite designer high-end pieces from your closet.
– Some trends are here this season and gone the next so don’t splurge! You can find reasonably priced, trendy pieces at stores like Kmart!
