My brother said his “I-dos” this past Sunday. As I watched the room, I took a mental picture of all the couples and singles in the room and sadly most of the single people were ladies. Damn, no wonder men attend weddings to find a chick, hence the movie Wedding Crashers. I mean that’s a lot of competition and with my sarcastic personality and need for adequate space, things aren’t looking too good.
As time went on, with tear-filled video collages, I sat back and sipped on the mango mojitio signature drink, while I prepared myself to witness, the crazy spectacle about to go down—the bouquet toss. I expected some arm flaying, pushing, arguing and for sure one woman would go flying across the room–all in an effort to catch this coveted prize and become the next one to walk down the aisle (yeah right).

I still don’t understand the rationale of men. Do they really believe the grass is always greener on the other side? Here’s some perspective fellas, the reason why you get along so well with the mistress is because she is the pop-off, she–like you is looking for a good time. She has no kids with you, no bills, and therefore no responsibilities. You can have sex whenever and wherever you want it, you can wine and dine without hearing about “what the kids need”. The other day I was at a party and met some guy. Now don’t be fooled, a woman can tell if she is interested after the first five minutes once the physical attraction has worn off. As for myself, I know if you will get a date or if I have placed you in the “not interested” box. However, every once in a while, you have that person who you once dated that is now “just friends.” Last week while out and about, I met up with someone I use to date and sometimes we will go out together because we have such a good time. Make no mistake, in the beginning, I was very attracted to him but over time and conversations of getting-to-know- you, things changed. So imagine my surprise when a brief pang of sexual tension drifted my way, while sipping on a cocktail. However, as easily as it came it went.

There’s a new reason to visit the Upper West Side, with the addition of The Sunburnt Calf, a casual dining spot, where attractive and friendly staff serve up affordable and tasty fare, while dishing tidbits of information about the Australian origins of each dish.
This three-floor eatery has 80 seats, two floors and an upstairs balcony perfect for breezy summer nights. My guest and I were seated in the “Uluru Atrium” back dining room, which is decorated with murals of the famous Australian Uluru Rock and makes you feel as if you’ve just stepped into the Outback.
While browsing the menu, start with one of the many fun and inventive cocktails like “Moo Juice”, “Moo Tinis” and “Moo Jitos”. The Moo Juice is served in baby bottles but don’t let the look fool you, these drinks pack a punch. My Sunburnt Moo Juice, a vibrant pink blend of passionfruit infused tequila and fresh strawberries, was fruity and delicious. The Oasis Moo Tini (Suza tequila, strawberry, watermelon, blackberry, pineapple and lime) arrives with a shot of Tequila housed in a delicate flower carved out of lime rind.
