I think stretch marks vary from person to person. I did not get stretch marks with my daughter who is now 13 years old. Instead I did get a black crust over my belly which I was able to peel off after I had her. I am 8 months now and I don’t have stretch marks or the black crust over my belly.
Most women should be able to tell if they will get stretch marks on their belly if they have them on their breasts, arms, and thighs. If you can find a product that is priced right then I say go for it.
