Some couples will do anything for a wedding, including getting married in top retail stores like Wal-Mart or Cold Stone Creamery–I guess it is the “Ultimate Ice-cream Experience.” We should give them an “A” for ingenuity but who would really get married between the produce and meat aisles?
Whatever happened to the Justice-of-the-Peace? While customers order at the counter at Taco Bell, the bride and groom are exchanging “I-dos.” This new phenomena shows the great lengths people will go to be different.
One would think they obtain perks for the publicity the stores are getting in exchange but no– since some chains are franchises, they can charge a fee for the ceremony. I know the economy is in a slump but is this an all-time low or just people being creative? It must be wonderful to obtain your wedding decorations and even a dress all in one place. Other retail weddings are popping up at places like T.J Maxx and Home Depot.
Would you get married at Wal-Mart to save a few bucks?
I am all for creativity and individuality when it comes to weddings but this is a bit too much for me. Walmart? Really?
No I would not. Granted, us guys don’t really fantasize about our wedding day. But no way in hell would I get married in a retail location. I know for sure that my wife wouldn’t have it.
Sometimes when people say they’re being creative, it’s code for cheapskates.
Keep up the good work, I like your writing.
