The question everyone’s mulling over today — Is it offensive or artistic for Beyonce to darken her skin (with makeup) for a French magazine photoshoot.

According to Huffington Post, the mag, L’Officiel, released a statement that “it’s a return to her roots” and she “voluntarily darkened her skin.”  AllHipHop.com is even speculating that this may be a response to rumors that she bleaches her skin.

Ok sooooo…a Black woman can not put on ”BlackFace” , as it’s being labeled in many of the headlines, because she is already Black! Beyonce, Halle, Mariah, Whoopi, Iman, Tyra are all Black. In regards to the ‘bleaching’ rumors, please stop. When are we going to realize that we’re all in the same boat (no pun intended).
